Plenty of leather interest at September Paris shows

19/06/2003

Leather professionals looking to gain a feel for the leather and fur fashions of summer and autumn/winter 2004 would do well to set aside September 17-20 2003 in their diaries.

Between those dates, Paris will play host to no less than two leather-related international fairs.  The summer forecast will be provided by Le Cuir á Paris (September 17-19), the upmarket twice-yearly fair that this autumn is expected to attract more fur producers than usual.   Organiser, Paris-based SIC Group, said it also  expects the return of exhibitors from the USA, Iran and Pakistan who were kept away from the April show by international tensions.

The autumn/winter 2004 perspective will be provided by Mod’Amont (Hall 3, Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre, September 17-20).   Though more of an accessories and components-orientated show than Le Cuir á Paris, this September’s Mod’Amont is said by its organiser to hold a great deal of interest for the leather visitor,  as its trends area will be devoted to leather and fur.  The show’s fashion information area will also be focused on supplies and trimmings for the footwear and leather goods markets.  Fur will be shorn, scaled, moistened and recycled in new combinations, organiser Sepic Expositions says.  Traditional know how and embellishment techniques have given rise to many inventive ways of working with leather and fur, and all of these will be showcased as part of the event, the company says.
