According to statistics released by the CIS Interstate Statistics Committee, Moldova generated the highest industrial growth (+14.5%) in the CIS countries, during January-April, 2003, compared with the year earlier period.
During the four months, the CIS countries’ industrial production increased 7% and GDP went up 7%. Production grew 13.9% in Armenia, 12.6% in Tajikistan, 11.4% in the Ukraine, 9.8% in Kazakhstan, 7.6%, in Azerbaijan, 6.5% in Kyrgyzstan, 6.3% in Russia, 6.2% in Belarus and 3.5% in Georgia.
