US tannery dispute; agreement reached with union

The labour dispute at Garden State Tanning's Williamsport facilities (see leatherbiz.com story 05.06.03 'Union, management at strike-hit US tannery to meet today'), would appear to be over.

 

The company said Friday it had reached a tentative agreement with union representatives at the meeting, and was expecting the entire Williamsport union membership to support the deal later today.  According to CEO and President Mark D. Lecher, the union leadership team has already instructed its members that they support the contract.
