The chairman of The National Association of Italian Manufacturers of Footwear, Leathergoods and Tannery Machines, (Assomac), Giuseppe Barrera, has been appointed to the Committee of Confindustria, the body comprising former chairmen, current executives and representatives of the Italian industrial machinery manufacturers’ association, Intermeccanica.  Barrera was appointed vice chairman of Intermeccanica in May. 

The committee was appointed at the recent General Meeting of Confindustria and will remain in office until May 2005.  With the Assomac meeting of June 27, Barrera will end his term as chairman of the organisation, as the rules do not allow re-election after two mandates.
