Lineapelle to feature 32nd ‘Young Designers Awards Competition’

06/06/2003

The organisers of Lineapelle have announced that the October 28-30, 2003 edition of the show will once again feature its ‘Young Designers Awards Competition.’

Organisers, BolognaFiere say that this will be the 32nd edition of the contest, which is open to fashion and design students or young designers aged up to 25.

Ninety nine young people participated in last year’s competition, which was themed around interpretations of fashion trends for spring/summer 2004.

Participants created projects covering five categories: men’s footwear, women’s footwear, bags and leather goods, leather garments, leather furnishings and design items and objects. The works were evaluated by judges on the merit of their design content, design development potential, interpretive power and industrial reproducibility.

At last year’s event three prizes were awarded for the women’s footwear category. However no prize was awarded for the men’s footwear group as the judges felt the entries lacked creativity.
