New chairman for Scottish Tanning Industries Ltd.

Scottish Tanning Industries Ltd. has announced the appointment of Jonathan Muirhead as its chairman. Mr Muirhead succeeds Scott Grier who has retired after serving as company chairman since 1997.

 

Mr Muirhead has worked with the group since 1970 and joined the company’s main board in 1979. He served as the managing director of Bridge of Weir Leather Company between 1985 and 2000.

 

Scottish Tanning Industries Ltd. is the UK’s largest bovine leather manufacturer and comprises Andrew Muirhead and Son Ltd., Bridge of Weir Leather Company Ltd., Garston Leather Ltd., NCT Leather Ltd. and W.J. and W. Lang Ltd. The group currently employs 500 people and generated sales of £69.4 million ($114.1 million) in its last financial year.
