Russia’s trade up 32.8% in Q1

According to statistics released by the Russian State Customs Committee, Russia’s year-on-year foreign trade turnover increased 32.8% to $41.2 billion in the first quarter of 2003.

For the three months ended March 31, 2003, Russia’s exports rose 38.3% to $29.9 billion and imports increased 20.1% to $11.3 billion. The country’s foreign trade surplus meanwhile went up 52.5% to $18.6 billion.
