The organisers of Matech China, held April 2-4, 2003 at the Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Centre, Dongguan, China say that the show was a success in spite of the current economic situation.
Organisers, Asia Pacific Leather Fair and the China Leather Industry Association, say that the fair attracted 130 exhibitors from eleven countries, including Bangladesh, France and Germany. 36% showed raw materials while 31% presented shoe and leather making machinery. Component manufacturers and man-made leather substitute makers accounted for 13% and 6% of exhibitors respectively.
2,745 visitors were present at the show, 81% of which were from the Chinese mainland. Hong Kong, Taiwan and the US accounted for the greatest majority of visitors from non-Chinese countries.
The next edition of Matech China will be held March 24-26, 2004 at the same venue.
