The cost of European branded leather goods is set to soar in the US, as the dollar fell to a four year low against the euro on Monday. Last year $1 was valued at Eur1.10. Today however it is worth just Eur0.87.

The US Commerce Department says the price of goods imported from the European Union (EU) has risen 6.5% during the last twelve months. This was against the backdrop of a 2.4% increase in the price of all imports (excluding oil).
