The Argentina-based tanning group Sadesa has revamped its image with a new logo.
Incorporating the strapline ‘Leather for Leaders’, the new design is characterised by three curved lines in warm colours that are said by the company to represent its commitment to evolution, flexibility and global reach.
Sadesa started operations sixty years ago as a wet-salted hide merchant before diversifying in the processing of the raw material. Today, the company operates nine industrial units around the world, six in MERCOSUR (Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay) countries and three in Asia (China and Thailand).
Sadesa has four tanneries in Argentina that between them generate an annual turnover of $200 million and account for 25% of the domestic market. These are located in Esperanza and Las Toscas (Santa Fe Province), Naschel (San Luis Province) and Lomas de Zamora (Buenos Aires Province), with 80% of their output going for export. Located in Paysandu, the company’s Uruguayan tannery produces finished leather only while its Asuncion del Paraguay tannery is Paraguay’s largest, accounting for 50% of the local market.
Some idea of the scale of Sadesa’s operations is provided by the fact that its Asian operations processed some 4.5 million feet of hides per month (crust and finished articles) in 2001. Sadesa inaugurated its Ayutthaya tannery in Thailand in 1999, since when it has opened facilities at Kabinburi (Tailandia) and Nanhai (China).
