Pakistan industrial park to receive PRs146.2 million

Pakistan’s Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) has released PRs146.2 million ($2.5 million) from its Export Development Fund (EDF) to complete a combined effluent treatment plant, located in Sector 7-A of the tannery zone at Korangi industrial park.

The news has been welcomed by the Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA), which says it has already contributed funds to the scheme. PTA chairman, Mr S M Naseen said 80% of the work on the project has already been completed and that with the release of the EDF finance, the plant should be operative by the end of the year. Naseen urged the EPB to release the funds as soon as possible so that the work can be completed without delay.
