Plans to improve SAARC’s agricultural potential

08/05/2003

The chairman of the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) has said that the agricultural potential of SAARC (The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) member countries needs to be utilised more effectively.

Dr Badruddin Soomro made the recommendation in April at the International Seminar on Goat Production and said that PARC wishes to establish productive and fruitful links with SAARC’s counterpart organisations.

He said scientific gatherings between the organisations would provide a unique platform to discuss issues of natural, regional and international importance and added that the meetings would also allow scientists to devise a suitable action plan to improve goat production in SAARC member countries.
