With the war in Iraq having finished quickly, it is hoped that confidence will return to the world economy. It is also hoped that consumers will spend more and that producers will manufacture more goods, thus restoring the economic balance.

The war however has had an effect on US footwear production and it is reported that army boot production has increased 1500%.
