China Shoe Industry Cooperation and Development Forum held in Chongqing

The China Shoe Industry Cooperation and Development Forum was held in Tongliang in Chongqing city this weekend.

 

Many famous footwear enterprises from Wenzhou, including Hongqingting and Kangnai attended the event to discuss the ways Chinese shoe making enterprises can unite together and improve the industry’s development.

 

Chongqing city is the most important footwear production base in western China and contains the three key production areas of Tongliang, Bishan and Nan’an. 5,000 footwear factories produce over 100 million pairs of leather shoes in the city every year.

 

An official from the Chongqing Leather Shoe association said the city has benefited from the Aokang group’s recent $96 million investment in a shoe industry park in the Bishan area. (See leatherbiz.com, Plans for new Chinese footwear production zone unveiled - 24.1).

 

Mr Wang zhen Tao, president of the Aokang group, also advised that the firm generated deals worth $3.62 million at recent shoe exhibitions held in Milan and Madrid.

 

He said the group’s 1,000 new styles for autumn/winter 2003 were extremely popular with buyers who placed orders on the spot.

 

Zhen Tao added that many companies in Wenzhou are attending European and US exhibitions to promote their latest styles and shoe technology.
