Estonian agricultural output down 4.7% in ‘02

The Baltic region's fastest growing state, Estonia, increased its GDP by 5.8% to 106.5 billion krone ($7.3 billion) last year, the country’s statistic office has reported.

 

Most of the growth was in construction (+14.7%), the restaurant and hotel sector (+12.7%), mining (+10.6%) and wholesale and retail trades (+10.1%). Declines were seen in agriculture (-4.7%), fishing (-2.5%) and electricity, gas and water supplies (-1.9%). The annual inflation rate was 2.7%.
