The Frankfurt, Germany, international trade fair for fashion garments made of fur, leather and combined materials starts today, several weeks later than usual.

The organisers of Fur & Fashion Frankfurt, Messe Frankfurt, cite a number of advantages for the postponed dates. "Due to the current downturn, it is likely that sales over the next few months will be subdued.  Buyers will therefore have had the extra time they need to think about order volumes," commented show director Marianne Erletz. "They will also have had more time to review their collections, in the light of earlier fashion fairs such as CPD".
