Pittards Tannery opens new learning centre
MP John Healey, the Economic Secretary to the United Kingdom Treasury today opened a new learning centre at Pittards Tannery in
The venture has been launched in partnership with the Knitting, Footwear and Allied Trade’s Union (KFAT) and will run courses in basic skills and IT. It will also be aimed at stimulating the learning culture within the factory.
Pittards human resources manager, Peter Beven was instrumental in setting up the centre and is the newest council member of Skillfast-UK, the sector skills council for apparel, footwear and textiles.
Among those attending the event were employers from many different sectors, trade union officials and union learning representatives.
