As part of a sweeping revision of import tariffs, the Chinese Government has reduced the taxes that apply to footwear by 1.9% to 20.1%. Other reductions include leather hats (-3%), leather garments (-0.9%), hides (-0.4%) and finished leather (-0.3%). Import taxes on leather chemicals, leather machinery and hardware and leather balls have stay at the same rates of 7.7%, 8.4% and 12% respectively.
