04/03/2003

The receiver for one Australia’s oldest manufacturers of ugh (nomadic sheepskin) boots says that after expecting to liquidate the business, he is now considering three possible offers.

Receiver Henry Kazar said two of the parties that had registered their interest in Shepherd Woolskins at Cootamundra, in southern
New South Wales, already had interests in the Cootamundra area.   Mr Kazar says it was hoped an unconditional contract would be signed by the end of this week.

The  business entered receivership in November 2002 with debts of more than $A3 million. (See leatherbiz.com news section;
