Help extended to former UK fur workers

26/02/2003

The UK Fur Trade Benevolent Society (Registered Charity No38 BEN) has issued an appeal, but not for funds.  It is for individuals and their families who might be eligible for its assistance to get in touch.

Established in 1929, the charity was set up to provide financial and/or other forms of assistance to people who had worked in the trade - whether on the production or retail side - and who were suffering from hardship.  If you are a UK resident who could use the society's help, or you know somebody who you think could, then please write in confidence to:   Ellen Lockyer, Secretary, Fur Trade Benevolent Society, PO Box 32813, London, N19 4WH.
