Bologna shoe and leather goods show hailed a success

14/02/2003

The Bologna International Fashion Shoe and Leather Goods exhibition, held January 15-17, 2003, has been hailed a success by its organisers having attracted just over five thousand visitors.

Over 200 exhibitors took part in the show, previewing collections of medium-fine, fine and luxury footwear, bags and accessories.

The exhibition was organised by BolognaFiere in cooperation with the Italian National Footwear Association (ANCI). The latest ANCI survey reveals that there has been a 4.2% average decline in footwear production in the country, with consumers favouring more innovative and creative designs.

In addition to the main event, the organisers held two conferences to provide an overview of world footwear distribution, analyses of distribution trends, variations in demands, propensity to buy and the current position of the Italian footwear market.

The next edition will be held in Bologna June 17-19, 2003.
