Pakistan’s leather exports slide, whilst shoe exports surge

According to foreign trade data released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics Pakistan’s exports of leather goods declined by 5.3% to US$127 million during the first seven months of the current fiscal year. However, exports of footwear surged by 53% to US$44.7 million
During the period which covers July 2002 to January 2003, exports of leather garments showed negative growth of 1.6%.
