Uruguayan leather exports tumble 18% in November

Uruguayan exports of hides, skins and finished leather fell 17.8% in November compared with the year before, the BCU (Banco Central del Uruguay) has advised.

 

The figure was recorded against the backdrop of an 8.6% decline in all exports to $150 million, resulting in a trade surplus of $9.75 million. By comparison, exports of machinery and electrical equipment registered the highest growth in November with a 27.5% increase being seen.

 

Exports of wood, paper and cardboard increased by 14.45%, textile and manufactured products by 8.25% and plastics and rubber by 7%.
