Raichle returns to its Swiss roots

21/01/2003

The mountaineering and trekking shoe brand Raichle is all set to return to its Swiss roots following its acquisition by the Alpine sports specialist, Mammut.

Founded 1909 in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland, Raichle was taken over by the Austrian Kneissl Dachstein Group in 1995.  With the incorporation of the brand in its portfolio, Mammut says it is now able to offer a complete range of outdoor and climbing equipment, from clothing, climbing ropes and harnesses through to sleeping bags, backpacks and shoes.

Under the acquisition, the distribution, logistics and purchasing services of Raichle will be integrated into the head offices of Mammut AG in Seon/Switzerland. In the USA, Germany and Norway the products will be distributed by Mammut subsidiaries Climb High Inc in Shelburne, Mammut Sportartikel GmbH in Memmingen and Ajungilak SA in Oslo.  The brand’s production partners in Italy, China and Korea remain unchanged.

The move follows the integration of the distribution and logistics services of Toko waxes and care products into Mammut in December. The former Raichle ski and snowboard shoes that are currently sold under the names Kneissl and Dee Luxe will remain the property of the Kneissl Group.
