It’s a WRAP
The U.S. Government has extended recognition to the Worldwide Responsible Apparel Programme (WRAP) and its continuing efforts to improve labour and social conditions world’s apparel and sewn products factories. WRAP received mention as one of the two major programmes in the region that are improving the lives of workers.
WRAP monitors and certifies compliance with socially responsible production standards called the WRAP Production Principles which ensure that production is carried out under lawful, humane and ethical conditions. Some 19 different national manufacturer associations currently endorse WRAP which has 1013 registered factories in 75 countries. To date, 348 factories have successfully complied with the initiative.
