Industry officials meet at CTCCA celebration

08/11/2002

On October 7, CTCCA, the technology centre for the leather, footwear and allied trades, based in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil, celebrated its 30th anniversary with a luxurious dinner party. Eight hundred guests gathered at the Fenac Panoramic Restaurant to commemorate the occasion.

CTCCA, a non-profit organisation, has developed projects geared to improving the efficiency of leather and shoe production since its foundation. The first Brazilian shoe exporters felt the need for a technology organisation able to evaluate products intended for export and provide necessary technical support.

Marcus Vinicius Pratini de Moraes, current Brazilian Minister of Agriculture, also attended the event.

A magazine containing the history of the sector and information about the leather and shoe industry was published as part of the celebrations. During the dinner party, CTCCA awarded the Wilson Sábio de Mello trophy to individuals and organisations for their work in the various areas of the industry, and to those companies that have been a member of the Centre since it was founded.
