Slipper manufacturer issues full year profits warning

24/10/2002

The US slipper and thermal retention materials manufacturer, R. G. Barry, has said it expects to post a loss for the full year 2002, despite improving slipper sales during the second half.

The company blamed lower than expected sales by it ‘Barry Vesture’ insulation division in the third and fourth quarters, as well as higher than expected shipping costs related to its new Nuevo Laredo, Mexico distribution centre.

The Company will report its third quarter 2002 financial results on October 30.
