US Leather to double manufacturing capabilities
18/10/2002
- The US leather upholstery maker, American Leather, has said it is to open a 205,000 square foot factory in late 2003, nearly doubling capacity.
Significantly, in the light the recent West Coast port dispute, the new facility will not be set up offshore but in south Dallas, Texas. The new $10 million facility will comprise a minimum of 11 manufacturing cells, six more than are currently in use, offering domestic retailers a two week lead time. The company said it also expects at least a 15% sales increase for 2003.
