Meet in Africa fully subscribed
The third Meet in Africa seminar and exhibition was held in Tunisia this week (October 6-12). The event followed a strong programme of seminars devoted to the development and improvement of the leather sector throughout Africa.
The three-day trade show, held at the Kram Exhibition Centre, was opened onThursday October 11 by the Prime Minister of Tunisia.
The 4,000 square metre exhibition space was fully subscribed- with just under 400 exhibitors coming from 38 countries. The organisers were unable to accommodate over sixty more companies who had applied too late for space.
Meet in Africa was organised by the International Trade Centre, UNCTAD/WTO and the Paris-based SIC group, in close collaboration with Tunisian footwear and leather organisations.
It is expected that the fourth biennial Meet in Africa event will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 2004.
