The international flavour of APLF 2002
APLF 2002 Fashion and Finished Products October Show, held in Hong Kong, ended on Sunday October 6, 2002.
468 exhibiting companies took part, including 14 group pavilions. APLF also presented a programme of seminars and fashion shows.
Exhibitors included new companies from Argentina, Brazil, France, German, Hong Kong, Laos, the Philippines, Spain and South Africa exhibiting footwear, handbags, small leather goods, leather garments and fashion accessories.
The Brazilian tannery Curtume Kaeru used the exhibition to unveil its new technique for tanning frog skin- marketed under the Bull Frog label. Orders for the product have already been placed from China, France, Japan and Korea.
A new sector, Sports in Fashion, showed Baliston, Diadora, Neil Pryde and Sergio Tacchini. Baliston presented its new fashion footwear by bringing world champion kick boxer Kamel Chouaref to the show for kickboxing.
Three Argentinean companies exhibited leather products under the Argentinean Chamber of Leather Goods (CIMA) banner. Spokesman Diego Capelluto said that the CIMA was particularly impressed with the international composition of the event.
APLF 2003 Fashion and Finished Products April Show will be held from April 7 - 9, 2003 and the October Show from October 6 – 8, 2003 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
