Woolmark announces new business plan
The Woolmark Company, based in Melbourne, Australia, has announced its new charter for wool under the theme: ‘Excellence in Wool, the Natural Evolution’ following a series of presentations to European buyers and designers.
The company says that its new business development programme is aimed at changing public perceptions about wool and creating new opportunities for retailers and designers.
The new approach focuses on product quality and innovation, creating new markets through technology and using market research to anticipating shifts in consumer demand.
In a press conference at Premiere Vision on Friday (September 20) , Malcolm Campbell, the new Commercial Director of The Woolmark Company, said existing textile product development had been ‘stuck in a time warp’ and that the new business development programme was aimed at changing this.
