Irish Cattle slaughtered up in July

The number of cattle slaughtered in the Ireland in July 2002 was 9.5% higher than in July 2001.

The number of sheep slaughtered in the January-July period 2002 was 20.9% lower than the corresponding figure in 2001. Over the same period, cattle slaughtered decreased by 5.6%.

A comparison of July 2002 and 2001 figures shows that sheep slaughtered increased by 5.9%.
