USDA cuts 2002 hides and skins export forecast
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has slightly reduced its hides and skins export forecast for the full year 2002, from May’s figure of $1.9 billion to $1.8 billion. Cited for the adjustment is the relatively high price of the US product. The USDA hides and skins projection for 2003 remains unchanged at $1.8 billion. The forecast for all agricultural exports in 2003 is $57.5 billion, $4 billion more than 2002.
