Veterinarian authorities in the Ukraine have placed a ban on the import of pork and pork products from Italy. According to chief veterinarian P. Verbitskyi the ban is due to a dangerous vesicular disease registered in Italy.

In a similar action earlier this year, pork and pork products imported from neighbouring Moldova were banned due to swine classic plague found in the Kaushany district.
