Lithuanian animal exports up 5.9% in first half 2002
Lithuania’s exports rose 3.3 percent to 9.32 billion litas ($2.6 billion) in the first half of 2002 compared to the year before, while imports grew 11.5 percent to 13.401 billion litas, resulting in a trade deficit of 4.068 billion litas, the Statistics Department announced on Friday.
Exports of vehicles and equipment saw the highest rise (51.3 percent), followed by mineral products (16.4 percent) and animals and animal products (5.9 percent).
