Summer ispo and OR events attract fewer visitors
The soft retail environment on both sides of the Atlantic meant fewer visitors to sporting goods exhibitions of ispo in Germany and Outdoor Retailer in Salt Lake City this summer.
At OR Summer Market (August 8-11), a total of 16,848 visitors passed through the turnstiles, nearly 2,000 less than the summer ‘02 event. Of the total, 5,281 were buyers representing 2,900 retail stores against 6,261 buyers representing 3,284 stores the year before.
By comparison, ispo Summer 02, (held at the New Munich Trade Fair August 3-4), attracted 35,000 visitors, 3,500 less than last year’s event with 20,000 attending from outside Germany.
