Leather chemical milestone for BASF

09/08/2002

German chemicals giant BASF has announced its millionth tonne of its ‘Trilon’ complexing agent, produced at the company's Ludwigshafen plant in Germany.

Brought on stream in 1971, the Trilon plant produces both liquid and powder grades which are used as a discolouring agent across a broad spectrum of applications including leather processing, detergent and cleaning agent manufacturing, as well as paper and pulp production.

The Trilon plant forms a significant part of its BASF’s C1 chemistry division, which concentrates on the production of formic acid, formamide and complexing agents.
