In response to tougher standards and eco-standard profiles, BASF has developed the Ecofit pre-treatment range of products that are said to be readily biodegradable or bio-eliminable and harmless in wastewater.

‘They all conform to the provisions of Annexe 38 of the Waste Water Ordinance and do not contain any substances that could harm the micro-organisms in effluent treatment plants – for example chlorine or chlorine-releasing agents.’

BASF continues, ‘As a major supplier of products for textile finishing, we are now providing the industry with support in a thorough and futuristic form. The key word is Ecofit – an acronym that stands for products that are ecologically and technically adapted for the requirements of the future.’
