A new product from Sanyo is the FSN-2100 foot scan system, which maps 60,000 measurements from the ankle down in 13 seconds, to create a 3D model of the foot and display it on a 15 inch L/C monitor. Inbuilt variable option software enables the model to be analysed from various angles, with visualisation of all measurement points and further measurement of key characteristics such as length, width, volume etc, down to a 1.5mm tolerance. Data can then be printed or interfaced into a CAD/CAM system for further processing.
