Reebok Supports Iverson

19/07/2002
Allen Iverson of the Philadelphia 76ers is one of Reebok International’s big name endorsements for shoes and apparel. So big, in fact, he has his own line of Reebok Basketball shoes. However, Iverson has been getting into trouble with the law lately. He is accused of multiple felonies, including forcing his way into a cousin’s home with a gun while searching for his wife.

If convicted, Iverson could be sent to jail, missing one or more basketball seasons. Reebok said that he will stick by Iverson. It should be noted that a decade ago companies like Reebok would drop such athletes like hot potatoes, but some say that with this age of impeachment of the President and questionable corporate accounting practices moral standards have slipped. Therefore, it was suggested that it would be a poor business decision for Reebok to drop Iverson before a court decision is reached.
