New case of BSE reported in Slovakia
Slovakia’s State Veterinarian and Food Administration (SVPS), has reported the country’s tenth case of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE)– the first for three months.
The disease was diagnosed in a 72 month-old cow on a farm in Zvolen, central Slovakia.
Since the introduction of a national monitoring programme in September 2001, a total of ten cattle have been diagnosed with BSE in Slovakia.
