The Czech Republic has begun discussions in Brussels regarding the agricultural chapter of its admission proposal to the EU. The main stumbling block is said to be the issue of direct payments to farmers.

Discussions will also cover production quotas and market protection measures. The talks will continue throughout summer and autumn.
