Italian PU resin supplier COIM opens new factory in Brazil
COIM, the Italian supplier of PU resin for synthetic laminates, has set up a factory in the town of Vinhedos/SP, Brazil. Called Novotex, the new operation is scheduled to start production before the end of the year and will produce PU resins for laminates and finishing, as well as adhesives for lamination.
Novotex products will be manufactured at the COIM Brasil factory where US$15 million has been invested to build new premises and purchase equipment.
According to Franco Baccin, director of COIM, ninety new jobs will be created and monthly production of PU resins for laminates and finishing will reach around 500 tons. A further 300 tons of adhesives for lamination will also be produced. Mr Baccin explains: "Raw materials produced here may see a price reduction of 15-20% compared to the same type of products that are currently imported by COIM."
