Exhibitor interest in Si mounts
The organisers of Source International (Si), (see leatherbiz.com story ‘New York venue announced for first Si’ - 10.4) have reported strong exhibitor in interest in advance of the show.
According to show director Ray Bianchi, companies in the sewn products raw materials sector from Austria, China, Korea, Spain and Thailand have already confirmed their participation at the event, which will be held January 12-13 2003.
Speaking to the press in Milan last week, Bianchi said: "We have a database of more than 25,000 executives who serve in the sourcing teams of the American companies who no longer manufacture in the USA, but who are outsourcing their requirements from the markets of the world. Eight months out from the event we already have more than 1,000 executives who have registered their interest in attending Si next January from such companies as Sara Lee Footwear, Bagworks, Donna Karan, Fila, Coach Leather and Kate Spade.
