The Indonesian footwear manufacturers’ association, Asprisindo, has complained that several of its members are suffering because of the government’s import restrictions, according to local newspaper reports.

Leather imported from South Korea is being detained in quarantine because of concerns about infectious diseases. Asprisindo claims that problems of raw material supply have forced several footwear manufacturers to temporarily shut down.
