US footwear company The Stride Rite Corporation has appointed Gerrald Silverman as president of Keds, a division of Stride Rite. For the last three years, Mr Silverman has been working as president of the company’s Children's Group.

Before working for Stride Rite, Mr Silverman was with Levi Strauss & Company for fifteen years in various sales management positions. David Chamberlain, chairman and CEO of The Stride Rite Corporation said the company is beginning an external search to fill the vacant position of president of the Stride Rite Children's Group.
