3M Protective Materials has announced it will be introducing new protection products under the Scotchgard brand name by autumn 2002. The US-based company has been producing protective treatments for leather since 1970.

The new Scotchgard protector for leather products are to replace current 3M products: wet end operations (FC-3573), aqueous finishing operations (FC-3583) and solvent based finishing operations.
