Nailhead Creations completes move to new production facility
After four years in the planning, Nailhead Creations, the US producers of glitter and metal fabrics, Beadz fabric, dyeable fabric and laminated vinyl, have moved to their new production facility in Lawrence, Massachusetts. The new facility measures 34,000 square feet with 8,000 square feet in office and sales support on a 13-acre site.
The company had been on the second floor of a 100-year old mill since the 1950s, which according to vice president Bill Griffin has been a constant headache in terms of transporting the finished product. The new facility has all new machinery and state of the art shipping department.
For three months the company was operating out of both facilities, but production finally moved over in March, 2002. The move doubles capacity at what was already the world's largest producer of the material (which was developed by the same company).
"We have a lot of confidence in the market", said Bill Griffin, "we see the economy as continuing to rebound and we are proud to have a commitment to manufacturing in the US." The official inauguration of the new facility is expected to take place early summer 2002.
