Administrator reports strong interest in Connolly Leather

29/04/2002

KPMG, the administrator brought in to manage the sale of UK prestige automotive leather specialist Connolly Leather, has confirmed it has received strong interest from a number of different parties.

Following the decision to place the company into receivership (see leatherbiz.com "Connolly Leather in receivership", April 16, 2002), the UK financial press reported that Seton, the US leather manufacturer, had already looked at the company’s assets with a view to purchase.

Seton also supplies leather to the automotive industry, including manufacturers such as Saab, Volvo and DaimlerChrysler.

While being unable to confirm or deny the story, KPMG did confirm that they had received one or more approaches.
