Wenzhou shoe fair attracts US buyers

The 2nd Wenzhou International Shoe and Leather Goods Fair, to be held between April 29 and May 2, 2002 will have representatives of US retail giant Walmart among the foreign visitors. The fair will be the second time the US company has visited the city, which is an important area of footwear production. Walmart reportedly visited Wenzhou on January 27 to do business with two local footwear companies.
The organisers of the Wenzhou International Shoe and Leather Goods Fair see the presence of Walmart as very significant in the development of Wenzhou’s profile as an international base for footwear manufacture.
